Erasmus is a research project funded by the EU, which explores a new way to manage air traffic, by exploiting the ability to forecast aircraft trajectory through high-precision onboard flight systems. The basic idea of the Erasmus program is to delegate a part of conflict resolution to an automated system. This raises a number of research questions, including the assessment of algorithms for path prediction and the design of readable user interfaces quickly understandable by pilots and controllers.

Intactile worked on the ATC graphic design of interfaces from the following points of view: What view can be given to the controller of the automatic operation of the system used by the pilots? What to show and how? Between supervision and minimum information, the main issue was found to be around the trust given to the machine.
